Beginning
HI there! Well, this is going to be very simple and plain to start with. I don't really know much about all the frills that come with web sites and blogging sites.
I had something a little different in mind when I first created this blog, but now given recent circumstances, it's purpose has changed somewhat.
For anyone who wouldn't ordinarily know .. I have been livng in New Orleans for nearly 15 years now. August 29th, 2005 has changed that a bit. That of course as if noone knows, was that horrible day of Katrina. Since there seems to be alot of misinformation in peoples minds about the event, and about post-Katrina life, I thought I would make this blog and keep a record of my own experience and what I witness in other peoples lives.
There's always the news, and the red cross commercials parading us around like third world country people where I'm certain someone somewhere watches and goes, oh look at those poor pitiful people and cries like when you see the little kid with the buldging belly and rib cage showing who lives in some poverished country.
That sounds more bitter than it was intended.
At any rate. I have no idea who, if anyone will be reading, but I'm sure it will be good for me anyway. So, if you do read .... drop by ever so often and you're sure to find something new.
I'll be blogging more about my own situation a little later, but for right now, I just wanted to make an initial post. My next series of posts will be about past stuff. Some e-mails passing back and forth when I was evacuated, and some other things. Hopefully, you'll find it interesting. If not, you don't have to read! :)
But thank you if you do read.
Blessings,
Survivor
